OVER 100 YEARS OF COMMUNITY AND TRADITION

For over a century, Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club has built a reputation around world-class golf and tennis, first-class member amenities, and an uncompromising focus on service and hospitality.

The Club itself was founded in 1911 when Vancouver was just 25 years old. First located on Canadian Pacific Railway lands, the Club moved in 1960 to the ancestral site of the Musqueam Nation’s winter village.

Shaughnessy is a Vancouver landmark that’s rich in history and time-honoured traditions; it has welcomed world leaders, hosted historic matches between golf legends, and held numerous golf championships — including four Canadian Opens between 1948 and 2011. In 2023, the Club added to its legacy of being the home of championship golf on the West Coast when it hosted the LPGA’s CPKC Women’s Open.

The Club’s mission is to continue its tradition of excellence as one of the most prestigious private clubs in Canada by providing the highest quality programs, services and facilities to its members, with a special emphasis on golf, dining, tennis, and fitness.

Founded in 1911 as Shaughnessy Heights Golf Club, the course was relocated to its current waterfront home in 1960, renamed Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club, and redesigned by distinguished, Irish-born golf architect, A.V. Macan.
